Vadum to refine AI and machine learning algorithms to help respond quickly to waveform-agile radar threats
The U.S. Navy's Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division plans to continue the Reactive Electronic Attack Measures (REAM) project by hiring Vadum Inc. to refine detection and classification techniques for identifying waveform-agile radar threats and responding with electronic warfare (EW) attacks using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. Waveform-agile radar can change its signal's time, frequency, space, polarization, and modulation to confuse adversaries. Modern enemy radar systems are digitally programmable with unknown behaviors and agile waveforms, making identification and jamming more challenging. The REAM project aims to generate automatic countermeasures against new, unknown, or ambiguous radar signals in near real-time.
