The latest counter-UAS system targets drones with dual-defeat kinetics and EW
Published on April 14, 2023
The United States Army is taking notice of the increasing threat of unauthorized and hostile drones in warfare. They are taking steps to prioritize the adoption of counter-uncrewed aerial systems (C-UAS). The Mobile, Low, Slow, Small, Unmanned Aircraft Integrated Defeat System (M-LIDS) Program is devoted to exactly this effort.
Aaron Hankins, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Leonardo DRS Land Systems, believes there is value in integrating C-UAS technologies into single systems for the Army. This includes planning for adequate soldier space and an ability to monitor power demands and expectations. The single-vehicle Stryker has been tested to this effect.
