How One Simulation Maker Is Adding AI, Drone Tactics

Czech Republic-based virtual reality and simulation producer Bohemia Interactive Simulations began its journey by creating video games. Today, it makes its name by developing realistic battlefield simulations for the United States Marine Corps.

Using actual terrain anywhere in the world, Bohemia’s simulations use artificial intelligence to enhance the realism of locations so that the conditions are what Marines ‘would really experience in any theater of operations.’ This use of AI - considered ‘ Tactical AI’ - enables the simulator to produce realistic AI agents against which human Marines can fight, in addition to more comprehensive virtual world-construction.
