
ChatGPT: how OpenAI’s bot is used in war-torn Ukraine

Due to sanctions, OpenAI had restricted access to ChatGPT in Ukraine. But Ukrainians, including soldiers, are eager to experiment with the artificial intelligence chatbot, according to Mykhailo Fedorov, the Ukrainian Minister of Digital Transformation.
Since then, ChatGPT has become fully available to Ukrainian users. It is likely, given the existing use of AI programs on the battlefield, such as Clearview AI’s facial recognition software, that Ukrainian forces will find ways of using ChatGPT for information sharing and ‘education.’ Nonetheless, some caution against the spread of misinformation on the battlefield resulting from its use.
