
U.S. and India Semiconductor Groups Announce Initiative to Strengthen Public-Private Collaboration in Chip Ecosystem
The U.S. Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) and the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) today jointly announced plans to form a private-sector task force that will strengthen collaboration between the two countries in the global semiconductor ecosystem.
The task force will have four main priorities: assess the 'readiness' of the semiconductor ecosystem in India, assemble multi-disciplinary stakeholders for near- and long-term strategic development, construct India-specific semiconductor recommendations, and facilitate workforce development and exchange between both countries. The planned task force marks another chapter for the global semiconductor industry as AI and advanced computing technologies dominate the geopolitical scene.
