France to Invest €500M in Deeptech Startups by 2030

The French government announces a €500 million investment in ‘deeptech’ startups. As part of its ‘France 2030’ plan, the investment aims to generate 500 technology startups each year, with a total of 100 unicorns, by 2030.

A core aim is to translate scientific research into transformative innovations. New actions to induce this change include the establishment of 25 university ‘innovation poles,’ greater interaction between French agencies and startups, and the promotion of specific research themes and programs. Among the relevant industries targeted by this investment are AI, semiconductors, and robotics.
