Raytheon’s KuRFS and Coyote detect and defeat UAS targets
Raytheon has successfully tested its low, slow, small-unmanned aircraft Integrated Defence System (LIDS) using the Ku-band Radio Frequency Sensor (KuRFS) and the Coyote small-unmanned aerial system (sUAS) during the US Army's annual summer test period. LIDS combines KuRFS, which offers precision tracking and high-resolution imaging, with Coyote sUAS, an expendable and tube-launched system for missions like electronic warfare, surveillance, and strike. The system was validated for detecting and defeating multiple unmanned aerial systems, demonstrating its improved capability and performance following hardware and software enhancements. Raytheon's LIDS has been contracted to equip several US Army divisions to counter the growing threat of unmanned systems.
