Russians Are Developing An Arsenal Of Deadlier FPV Drones — But Bureaucracy Is Holding Them Back

Russian military engineers are working on making First-Person View (FPV) kamikaze drones more lethal, featuring longer ranges, smarter guidance systems, and bigger warheads. While the Ukrainian military has successfully deployed these types of drones in combat, the Russians are encountering resistance from their own bureaucratic systems. Despite innovations from small startups and volunteer groups, the deployment of advanced FPVs is being slowed down by the Russian military's hesitance to adapt. Experts indicate that the official military units have fewer FPV units in service and there's a lack of directive to implement this rapidly evolving drone technology across services. This bureaucratic lag could potentially give Ukraine an edge, as its more decentralized system may allow quicker deployment of new drone technologies.
