Apium Joins Red Cat Futures Initiative to Advance Swarming Autonomy for Tactical Drones

Apium Swarm Robotics has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Red Cat Holdings to join the Red Cat Futures Initiative, a consortium advancing autonomous and interoperable drone technologies for defense use. Following successful demonstrations of Apium’s distributed swarm autonomy on Red Cat’s Teal 2 drone, the partnership aims to bring scalable, decentralized drone swarming to the battlefield. Apium’s system allows drones to cooperate and adapt in real time without centralized control, maintaining functionality even under jamming or communication loss. Through the Futures Initiative, Apium’s technology will be integrated across Red Cat’s unmanned systems, supporting the U.S. Department of Defense’s push for rapidly deployable, resilient, and autonomous platforms across air, land, and sea domains.
