KAI delivers AI-based flight training system to South Korean Air Force
Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) announced on the 13th that it has delivered the 'artificial intelligence (AI) based tactical development and training simulation flight training system' to the Air Force for 35.5 billion won.
This equipment is the first training system in Korea to apply reinforcement learning-based AI. It is characterized by AI-based virtual aircraft that learns actual tactical data and autonomously develops tactics.
The Air Force has faced restrictions during large-scale tactical flight training due to airspace limitations and noise complaints. This equipment allows for the creation of situations similar to actual combat scenarios in a virtual environment.
KAI has developed the KF-16 and FA-50 fighter jet simulators based on virtual reality and mixed reality, becoming the first in the world to do so during this project.
