Greek defence tech startup founded by Apple roboticist raises $14M

Delian Alliance Industries, a Greek defence tech startup founded by former Apple roboticist Dimitrios Kottas, has raised $14 million in a Series A funding round to scale up its development of autonomous weapons systems, including AI-powered drones and surveillance towers. Competing in a rapidly evolving defence sector alongside giants like BAE Systems and startups like Helsing, the Athens-based company plans to expand its engineering and deployment teams to meet growing NATO demand. Backed by investors including Air Street Capital and Marathon Venture Capital, Delian emphasizes rapid deployment and the integration of advanced AI with commercial hardware. Founded in 2021 as Lambda Automata, the company benefits from Greece’s lower operating costs and previously raised $6 million in 2023.
