Ukraine offers $250K grants to AI defense startups

Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence has launched the K4 Startup Studio, a bold initiative aimed at accelerating AI-powered defense technologies through grants and mentorship. Backed by Germany’s Federal Ministry of Defence and Ukraine’s BRDO, the program seeks to bridge innovation and battlefield deployment by inviting startups to address key military challenges with AI solutions. Up to ten teams will be selected, with four receiving $250,000 grants to develop their technologies over a four-month intensive phase, followed by six months of support for investment and procurement. The initiative emphasizes real-world testing and frontline feedback, reflecting Ukraine’s unique position as a country actively using AI in warfare.
