Leidos has acquired cybersecurity firm Kudu Dynamics for $300 million to enhance its artificial intelligence-driven offensive cyber and electronic warfare capabilities. The acquisition aims to combine Leidos’ long-standing AI expertise with Kudu’s advanced vulnerability research and exploit development, enabling faster and more adaptable cyber operations. Leidos President Roy Stevens noted that while the company could have developed these capabilities internally, partnering with Kudu accelerates progress by an estimated 18 months. The move aligns with growing defense demands for advanced cyber tools, though Leidos says the decision was based on strategic planning rather than political timing. Kudu, with about 170 employees, brings a strong track record of innovation and defense contracts to the partnership.
