UAE: Sheikh Tahnoon explores AI cooperation with Alphabet leadership

On May 14, 2025, UAE National Security Advisor Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Zayed met with Alphabet and Google President and CIO Ruth Porat in Abu Dhabi to discuss collaboration on artificial intelligence (AI). The meeting covered key discussion points, including a proposal from Sheikh Tahnoon and a strategic goal the UAE aims to accomplish by the end of the year. A Letter of Strategic Intent (LoSI) was also exchanged between the two parties, signaling a formal commitment to advancing their cooperation in AI development.
