Switzerland joins EU PESCO project “Cyber Ranges Federation” to enhance cyber defence training
Published on May 27, 2025
Switzerland has decided to join the Cyber Rapid Response Force (CRF) and participate in the PESCO “Military Mobility” project to boost international cooperation, enhance cyber training using its Swiss Cyber Training Range, and simplify cross-border military transport. Approved by the Federal Council on 21 August 2024, these efforts aim to strengthen the interoperability and operational readiness of the Swiss Armed Forces while respecting Switzerland’s neutrality through a non-binding administrative arrangement. PESCO, launched by the EU in 2017, currently involves 26 of 27 EU member states in over 60 joint defence projects.
