
QinetiQ US Awarded $4.2 Billion U.S. Army Contract for Advanced Aerostat Surveillance and Persistent ISR Solutions
On April 14, 2025, the U.S. Army awarded QinetiQ US a prime position on a $4.2 billion, 10-year MATOC contract under the Product Director Aerostats program to support the development and deployment of tethered aerostat surveillance platforms. QinetiQ US will deliver system integration, engineering, logistics, and operational support to enhance the Army's persistent surveillance capabilities, including key programs like the Persistent Surveillance System – Tethered (PSS-T) and the PSDS2. With proven expertise in managing both strategic and tactical aerostat systems, QinetiQ US provides cost-effective, long-duration surveillance solutions using advanced sensors and its SPADE data ecosystem, enabling real-time intelligence and situational awareness. This initiative supports the Army’s ISR modernization efforts and JADC2 goals, reinforcing QinetiQ US’s role as a key defense partner in evolving threat environments.
