Dual-use eVTOL to undergo UK testing
Anduril Industries UK, Archer Aviation, Skyports Drone Services, and AtkinsRéalis are collaborating to test dual-use eVTOL cargo aircraft in the UK using Archer’s Midnight platform, targeting both civil and defence applications such as BVLOS operations and rapid-response logistics. Anduril will integrate mission autonomy and command systems tailored to UK needs, while Archer adapts its aircraft for dual use, marking its entry into the UK market. AtkinsRéalis brings regulatory and safety expertise as the CAA’s first approved commercial drone assessor, and Skyports contributes its extensive operational experience. The partnership aims to advance VTOL and BVLOS capabilities, enhance UK aviation and defence sectors, and support broader goals of innovation, economic growth, and sustainable urban mobility.
