SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Archer Aviation Inc. in San Jose, Calif., and Palantir Technologies Inc. in Denver have announced a partnership to integrate artificial intelligence into next-generation aviation technologies, with a focus on supporting Archer’s electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.

The companies plan to use Palantir’s Foundry and Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) to enhance Archer’s aircraft manufacturing operations in Georgia and Silicon Valley. The collaboration aims to develop AI-driven software to improve aviation systems such as air traffic control, movement control, and route planning, with a focus on efficiency, safety, and affordability.

Archer is developing Midnight, an eVTOL designed for urban air mobility, with a range of up to 100 miles and optimized for rapid back-to-back flights of around 20 miles. The aircraft is designed to operate in electric air taxi networks, reducing congestion in major metropolitan areas. Archer is also working with the U.S. Air Force through contracts under the AFWERX Agility Prime program to explore military applications of its eVTOL technology.
