Estonian defence company Vegvisir unveils VR-based command system at IDEX 2025

The new system was officially launched at IDEX 2025, where Vegvisir CEO Ingvar Pärnamäe presented the technology, accompanied by remarks from Estonian Minister of Defence Hanno Pevkur. The headset-based solution allows commanders to access real-time battlefield data, integrating Battlefield Management Systems, UAV and UGV feeds, and sensor information into a single immersive display.

The Vegvisir Visor provides an interactive AR interface, enabling commanders to view maps, video streams, and mission-critical updates in a shared virtual workspace. To further enhance usability, the system includes the Vegvisir Mission Grip, an ergonomic control device featuring gesture support and haptic feedback, making it well-suited for use in armoured personnel carriers (APCs), infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), and mobile command posts.
