Airbus and Navantia to integrate SIRTAP Drone into Spanish Navy’s LHD

On January 28, 2024, Airbus Defence announced that they signed an agreement with the Spanish shipbuilder Navantia to explore the integration of SIRTAP unmanned aerial system into the Spanish Navy's flagship Juan Carlos I landing helicopter dock (LHD).

The agreement represents an important step toward ensuring the interoperability of SIRTAP with other systems on the Juan Carlos I carrier, including the SCOMBA combat system.

According to the social media post of Airbus, the integration efforts will focus on key areas:

- Command and control (C2)

- Combat system integration

- Navigation support, including take-off and landing operations
