Dutch Navy ship helps thwart Houthi drone attack in Gulf of Aden.

According to information published by the Dutch MoD on July 8, 2024, the Greek naval vessel HS Psara successfully thwarted a Houthi drone attack while escorting and protecting a cargo ship in the Gulf of Aden as part of the EU operation Aspides.

The Greek crew managed to shoot down two drones during the incident. The Dutch ship Zr.Ms. Karel Doorman alerted their Greek counterparts to the imminent threat and was on standby to provide medical assistance if necessary.
