Europe's latest AI-based tool: Ground Warden deployed to find hidden military targets

European missile manufacturer MBDA has unveiled a groundbreaking artifical intelligence-based tool designed to help military forces detect and track hidden targets in the battlefield.

MBDA, a multinational firm with national divisions in France, the United Kingdom, and Italy, have presented the AI-enabled tool dubbed "Ground Warden" during the 2024 Eurosatory Conference - a global defense and security event held in Paris from June 17 to 21.

With the "Ground Warden" man-portable device in operation, military forces can utilize this beyond-line-of-sight technology to identify targets with pinpoint accuracy even in challenging battle conditions.

The device works by processing real-time data obtained from footages caught by surveillance drones, and then relaying the information to a control center.

The real-time data can also be integrated into the missile launcher as a man-portable device, helping missile operators to outline all possible attack options, including finding the location of the hidden target and when it can be intercepted.
