The U.S. military's ULTRA drone, or Unmanned Long-Endurance Tactical Reconnaissance Aircraft, is seen taking off early in the morning at an undisclosed location within within U.S. Central Command's area of responsibility on May 7, 2024.

The U.S. Air Force is getting closer to realizing its vision of low-cost surveillance drones with an autonomous drone that can fly for more than three straight days. And it’s already flying missions in the Middle East.
