Machine learning and AI will form the core the TITAN system to help the U.S. Army take rapid action in battle.

Denver-based Palantir has been awarded a $178 million contract for the U.S. Army’s next-generation, ground-based targeting system, the Tactical Intelligence Targeting Access Node (TITAN).

Commissioned by the Army Contracting Command—Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG), Palantir will design and construct 10 TITAN ground stations.

These stations will aid the Army in combining data-gathering sensors from various domains and connecting them to soldiers in the field, enabling sophisticated beyond-line-of-sight targeting.

TITAN will use advanced technology, including artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), to connect to various sensors in space, in the air, at high altitudes, or on the ground.
