Britain has fired a high-powered laser weapon at aerial targets for the first time, as military scientists at the top-secret laboratory Porton Down laboratory accelerate plans to get it ready for use against soaring threats. DragonFire destroyed incoming drones from several positions miles away during a trial in the Hebrides in what experts said was a significant milestone for British defence, The Times can reveal.
