Real-time multimodal tactile detection system applicable to robots and wearable devices
Researchers have developed an advanced tactile perception system that emulates human skin's ability to perceive and transmit various types of tactile information in real-time. This system is designed for robots and wearable devices, enhancing their interaction with the physical environment. It features four three-dimensional stacked tactile sensors, each specialized in detecting temperature, vibration, shear force, and vertical pressure. These sensors are integrated using 3D flexible electrode printing technology and connected to a Flexible Printed Circuit Board (FPCB) for efficient signal processing and transmission. The system can distinguish different tactile stimuli and surface textures, and even discern complex motions in real time, demonstrating a significant leap in the field of tactile sensory technology.
