The strategy targets quantum computing, semiconductors, 5G, nuclear technology, aerospace technology, gene editing, and artificial intelligence (AI). While the US recognizes MCF's concern, implementing broad restrictions may harm American businesses and lead to Chinese industrial independence. The US should focus on boosting its AI, nuclear, and genetic sectors to offset China's advantage. By collaborating internationally to establish guidelines for MCF-targeted technologies, the US can mitigate China's potential military superiority without provoking the Chinese Communist Party directly.
