Thales introduces enhancements to weapons training, tactical engagement simulators

Thales Training and Simulation revealed new capabilities for its Gladiator tactical engagement simulation system (TESS) at the I/ITSEC 2023 conference. The key addition is a laser-capable surrogate pistol integrated into the Gladiator dismounted TESS harness, allowing individuals with a handgun as their primary or secondary weapon to fully participate in live laser-based TESS training. The surrogate pistol is designed without additional attachments, enabling natural holstering and usage. The solution incorporates instrumentation electronics, a battery, and a laser projector into an Airsoft pistol, featuring a compressed air-driven recoil simulator.
