Hensoldt, Rafael partner for naval ECM

German sensor manufacturer Hensoldt has partnered with Israel's Rafael Advanced Defense Systems to offer the German Navy an electronic countermeasures (ECM) suite, combining onboard and offboard jamming components. The collaboration aims to address the self-protection capability gap in the German Navy's ships. Hensoldt's Kalaetron Attack jammer, featuring cognitive software elements and a digitized broadband sensor, will be combined with Rafael's Digital Shark shipboard ECM system and C-GEM active offboard decoy. The ECM suite seeks to enhance the navy's electronic warfare capabilities by leveraging artificial intelligence algorithms and advanced jamming technologies.
