Defense & Security 2023: RV Connex unveils Sky Scout-M

Thai company RV Connex showcased the combat version of its Sky Scout unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), the Sky Scout-M, at the Defense & Security 2023 exhibition in Bangkok. The baseline Sky Scout entered service with the Royal Thai Air Force in 2021 for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR). The updated Sky Scout-M features two hardpoints for weapons and payloads, displaying Thales' Free Fall Lightweight Multi-role Missile and the RASH-1M guided munition. In development for four years, the Sky Scout-M is equipped with an integrated autopilot system and an Italian-sourced engine. RV Connex has completed development and is undergoing further trials, considering potential supplies to the Royal Thai Air Force. The Sky Scout-M has a wingspan of 6.3 m, a length of 3.6 m, a loitering speed of 58 kt, a 12-hour endurance, and a service ceiling of 15,000 ft, with the payload capacity undisclosed for the modified version.
