MBDA Deutschland develops lasers for infantry and UGVs

MBDA Deutschland is developing the Modular Integrated Laser Optic System (MILOS) for the German Army, with a focus on the dismounted version called MILOS-D, a medium-range 5 kW laser. The system has been tested against various targets at ranges between 25 m and 420 m, with potential power levels of up to 10 kW. MILOS-D is expected to become operational by 2027 and can be mounted on unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) in addition to infantry use.
