Britain unveils details on AI defense programs
The UK Ministry of Defence has unveiled two artificial intelligence (AI) projects ahead of a global summit focused on AI risk management. The first project involved a beach-landing exercise in the English Channel, gathering data for future defence-related AI applications. It featured personnel, vessels, UAVs, aircraft, cameras, and sensors. The second project is a new AI-powered software called Motherlode, which improves maintenance and availability prediction for Royal Navy helicopters by analysing historical data. The software can significantly reduce problem-solving times and is expected to be rolled out across all Royal Navy helicopters by year-end.
