Air Force researchers ask industry for artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning for military C4ISR

The U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate in Rome, New York, has announced the Extreme Computing program, a four-year initiative seeking advanced technologies such as nano-computing, neuromorphic computing, machine learning, and embedded deep learning. They are inviting industry submissions for white papers in three key areas: advancing computing technology and applications, nano-computing, and neuromorphic computing with machine learning. The program could be valued at up to $497.9 million, with contracts ranging from $1 million to $100 million for selected companies. The aim is to develop sophisticated, autonomous, and intelligent computers for a variety of applications, focusing on advancements in technology and energy efficiency.
