Shield AI to swarm with 4 V-BATs thanks to new V-BAT Teams
California-based Shield AI has revealed its V-BAT Teams system, designed to enable multiple V-BAT drones to collaborate autonomously, even in environments with electronic interference. Leveraging Nvidia's modular GPU upgrade and Shield AI's proprietary AI-pilot software "Hivemind," V-BAT Teams have the capability to read and react to potential threats, environmental conditions, and other V-BATs performing similar missions. The company is vying to be a part of the U.S. Department of Defense's "Replicator" initiative, aiming to deploy thousands of autonomous drones to counter emerging threats. Shield AI plans to progressively increase swarm capacity, reaching 8 in 2024 and 16 in 2025, providing 24/7 comprehensive coverage in electronically contested areas at an affordable price. The goal is to empower warfighters with significant combat power through intelligent, swarming aircraft, ensuring air dominance and deterrence. Shield AI intends to offer V-BAT Teams to all U.S. military services and international customers.
