Türkiye’s defense giant Aselsan introduces 3 new marine systems
Aselsan, Türkiye's defense powerhouse, unveiled three state-of-the-art marine systems at the third edition of Teknofest, the esteemed technology and aerospace convention in Izmir. Ahmet Akyol, Aselsan's general manager, announced these innovations would be incorporated into the Turkish Naval Forces' arsenal. He emphasized the addition of the GÖKDENİZ close air defense system to the fifth MİLGEM ship and mentioned existing export contracts with three nations. The vessel also features the new CENK radar system, designed for the detection and identification of incoming aircraft, missiles, and surface vehicles. Additionally, the AKREP fire control radar has been integrated. These advancements, Akyol notes, further fortify the Naval Forces' capabilities. Teknofest, which celebrates its third edition this year, runs for five days in Izmir, aligning with the Republic of Türkiye's 100th anniversary.
