Even the CIA is developing an AI chatbot
The CIA and other US intelligence agencies are developing an AI chatbot akin to ChatGPT that will train on publicly available data, aiming to assist agents in navigating the vast amount of information they encounter. The chatbot will provide sources alongside its responses, allowing agents to verify the information. The goal is to help US spies efficiently sort through the continuously expanding volume of data, although concerns about privacy and the definition of "public data" may arise. The AI tool will enable agents to access information, pose follow-up questions, and summarize extensive data sets, enhancing the intelligence community's capabilities in information processing and analysis. However, access to the tool will be restricted to the 18-agency US intelligence community, with no public access. The CIA has not disclosed the specific AI tool being used as the foundation for the chatbot.
