China is Leading the World in Naval Sensing and Navigation R&D
In key areas of missile-guidance and sub-detection tech, China is producing the most cutting-edge research
China is markedly surpassing the AUKUS partnership—comprising the US, UK, and Australia—in advanced sensor technologies crucial for military navigation and targeting. A report indicates that even if the AUKUS nations allied with Japan and South Korea, they wouldn't match China's dominance in most of these high-impact research areas. China’s leadership extends across technologies like inertial navigation systems, photonic sensors, and multispectral imaging sensors. Notably, Wuhan University has been spotlighted for its pioneering work in AI, having recently allowed AI to take temporary full control of a satellite in space. This AI achievement underscores the rapid advancements in technology that China has been fostering.
