Israeli defense contractor Elbit Systems secured a $95 million contract to supply its SkyStriker "suicide drone" to an unspecified European country. The SkyStriker UAV is a fully autonomous unmanned aerial vehicle capable of loitering in the sky until it identifies a target and fires a warhead weighing up to 22 pounds. The contract involves the supply of several hundred drones over a two-year period, enabling covert operations for up to two hours within a range of 62 miles. The surge in Israeli defense exports is attributed to increased defense budgets in European countries following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and improved relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Morocco.
