
U.S. and Saudi Arabia Complete Joint Counter-UAS Exercise
In a display of united defense efforts, Gen. Michael “Erik” Kurilla, Commander of U.S. Central Command, and Gen. Fayyad al-Ruwali, Chief of General Staff for Saudi Arabia, supervised the Red Sands 23.2 exercise organized by the Red Sands Integrated Experimentation Center. Emphasizing their combined dedication to countering the threats posed by Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), this exercise showcased the results of extended rapid prototyping and development, building on previous iterations. The exercise encompassed training and operational demonstrations, as well as testing nine diverse systems to either neutralize or immobilize UAS'. Both nations' commitment to regional security and mutual innovation shone as they collaboratively approached the challenges posed by adversary UAS, with promises of more joint exercises in the future.
