JACKAL ARMED UAS CONTRACTED FOR 160-UNIT TAIWAN DEAL

September 16, 2023 - UK-based UAV developer, Flyby Technology, has secured a significant launch order from Taiwan for its hybrid VTOL fixed-wing Jackal drone. This 160-unit commitment underscores the Jackal's capabilities, especially its vertical take-off and landing feature suitable for maritime operations. Although the financial specifics remain undisclosed, the Jackal is priced between "expendable and attritable". Notably, the platform underwent rapid development, demonstrating its capability by launching two Thales Martlet missiles within six months. As Taipei becomes the initial buyer, production localization challenges in Taiwan might see other customers receiving their units sooner. Developed in the UK with support from its Turkish sister company, FlyBVLOS Technology, the Jackal will also undergo final assembly in the UK. Aimed at battlefield interdiction, the UAV can target diverse threats while also having potential for collaborative operations and technological advancements.
