Leonardo and UK MoD Reveal Rotary-Wing UAS at DSEI 2023

At the DSEI 2023 event in London, Leonardo and the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) showcased their latest project, the Proteus Rotary Wing Uncrewed Autonomous System (RWUAS). This state-of-the-art tech demonstrator is in its mature conceptual phase under the Technology Demonstrator Programme (TDP) Phase 3a. Designed with maritime operations in mind, this single-engine RWUAS, weighing between 2-3 tons, boasts versatility, able to undertake various roles such as maritime surveillance and logistics supply. The technology is expected to be airborne by mid-decade, playing a pivotal role in shaping the Royal Navy's vision for future maritime warfare.
