DSEI NEWS: British Army Establishing New UAS Unit

The British Army is establishing a new Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) unit by the end of 2023, recognizing the pivotal role of drones in modern warfare, exemplified by the Ukrainian conflict. This UAS group will fall under the Joint Aviation Command, fostering industry partnerships to develop advanced UAS platforms. Simultaneously, the army is prioritizing data as a strategic asset, aiming to become a data-centric force to accelerate the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence.

General Sir Patrick Sanders stressed the importance of collaboration and workforce development, unveiling plans for new Soldier and Non-Commissioned Officer academies to enhance skills and readiness, promoting collective national strength.
