
Israel begins tests of Oron, ‘most advanced’ surveillance aircraft
The plane is meant to provide "unprecedented intelligence capabilities across extensive terrain."
Israel has begun test flights of its new Oron surveillance aircraft, which is said to be the world's most advanced of its kind. The aircraft was developed jointly by the Ministry of Defense, Israeli Aerospace Industries, and the Israel Air Force. It is equipped with sensors and C4I systems that will provide "unprecedented intelligence capabilities" across expansive terrain. The Oron will be used for a variety of missions, including intelligence gathering, target identification, and battle damage assessment. It is expected to be fully operational in the next few years.
