
Tactical agility for AI-enabled multi-domain operations
In the future AI-enabled multi-domain battlespace, commanders must maintain agility and adaptability for critical decisions at the tactical edge. Conventional cloud-centric Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) lack flexibility, hindering dynamic threat detection and learning. To address this, the Hawk system is introduced, utilizing edge proximity and tactical cloudlets to enable rapid execution of the Observe stage in the Observe-Orient-Decide-Act loop. This architecture facilitates efficient human-guided MLOps, ensuring operational objectives are achieved swiftly, at scale, while maintaining usability and explainability even in austere conditions.
