The aim is to enhance visibility and reconnaissance capabilities without risking human lives. However, concerns arise about the potential for autonomous systems with lethal capacity, as rival nations like China are also investing heavily in military autonomy. The rapid development of AI in military applications raises ethical questions about accountability and the potential risks associated with inscrutable machine-learning algorithms.
