U.S. Indo-Pacific Strategy Showing Results, Ratner Tells Congress

The Defense Department is prioritizing the challenge from China by dedicating resources to deterrence and warfighting capabilities. DOD is investing in breakthrough technologies like artificial intelligence and hypersonics to maintain military dominance now and in the future.
The U.S. is also strengthening alliances and partnerships in the Indo-Pacific, supporting allies to enhance their own defense capabilities. Despite progress, continued resolve and urgency is needed to address the threat from China. Artificial intelligence in particular will be crucial for maintaining America’s military edge.
