One Way Aerospace to demo Ukraine-made kamikaze drones to NATO

Ukraine-based startup and drone producer One Way Aerospace will demonstrate a ‘long-range system’ to the country’s Ministry of Defense as well as an unnamed European NATO partner.

In late May, and in an undisclosed location, One Way is expected to demonstrate its AQ-400 and the AQV-150 Scalpel Heavy drones. The technique behind these uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) draws from a pattern in the conflict: they are one-way drones, designed to be low-cost but effective for a single use. The startup ‘localizes’ its manufacturing process as much as possible, while relying on a ‘network of small sites and engineering companies’ carrying out similar work in the region. Co-founder James Earl envisions a multi-strike capability emerging from the combination of the AQ-400 and the AQV-150 while remaining disposable.
