U.S. Department of Defense to Purchase Unmanned Helicopters from Spain’s Alpha Unmanned

The United States Department of Defense (DoD) will purchase Alpha 900 uncrewed helicopters from Spain-based uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) company Alpha Unmanned Systems. US-based aviation component manufacturer Rapid Expeditionary Concepts is awarded a contract by the DoD for the testing, integration, evaluation, and deployment of the helicopters.

Rapid Expeditionary Concepts will ‘leverage’ its existing expertise with aerial systems and advanced payloads and sensors to create a counter-uncrewed aerial system (C-UAS) solution with the Alpha 900 for the DoD. The Alpha 900 is typically used in a range of commercial and military applications, including precision agriculture and maritime security.
