European Commission investigates Milrem Robotics acquisition

The European Commission is investigating the acquisition of Estonia-based Milrem Robotics by the United Arab Emirates’ EDGE Group defense conglomerate.

Milrem, a high-profile European developer of uncrewed ground vehicles (UGVs) and robotic warfare solutions, joined EDGE as a new entity following the acquisition while continuing its previous operations. The European Commission acknowledges that it was informed prior to the acquisition, but has concerns over Milrem’s involvement in the European Integrated Modular Unmanned Ground System (iMUGS) project with a majority stake of their company under foreign ownership.
