Turkey's powerhouse drone industry is on the verge of another milestone: a stealthy unmanned fighter jet for its new aircraft carrier

Turkey’s drone industry grows to become a powerhouse. Its uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) accounted for the country’s single latest export in 2022, totaling USD $871.5 million.
Turkish drone firm Baykar represents a substantial portion of this growth. Baykar’s heavily used TB2 model, especially, has proven to be a high-seller. But this disproportionate attention neglects other Turkish drones of note. These include the jet-powered uncrewed combat aerial vehicle (UCAV), the Kızılelma, and a naval variant of the TB2 still in development called the TB3. Turkey’s plans to continue expanding its drone industry are notably ambitious.
